Travel Opportunities

Girl Scouting provides many opportunities for travel, especially as girls get older. Learning to plan trips and travel as a group is one of the basic Girl Scout experiences. In Girl Scouting, travel is about fun, exploration and progressive experiences in appreciating the outdoors, new places and other cultures. Check out some of the council-sponsored and GSUSA-sponsored travel opportunities below. Financial assistance may be available for council-sponsored travel opportunities - click here to apply.

For questions regarding Destinations and Getaways, contact your local Program Coordinator - Teen .

Destinations

What is a destination? A destination is your chance to go somewhere new, do something different, and meet people from everywhere you can imagine. This is a trip that you take on your own with adult supervision from the sponsoring council. To participate in this form of travel, you must complete the application process and receive approval from Girl Scouts OSW and the sponsoring council. For more information or to apply visit the Studio2B website  or  contact your local Program Coordinator - Teen .

If you have already been accepted for participation in a destination and are seeking financial assistance for your trip, please complete the D-Pass Grant application (available below) and follow the submission instructions that are listed on the form.

Getaways

What is a getaway? A getaway is different from a destination in that you don't have to complete the Girl Scout destinations Application Form. This is a trip that you can take with your troop or on your own with an adult chaperone. To participate in a getaway, simply contact the event sponsor to sign up (this information will be listed with the event description on the Studio 2B website ). Remember: you must notify Girl Scouts OSW that you are traveling on a getaway and be sure to complete all of the required extended travel paperwork.
