About Us
Each of the councils brings to this realignment effort expertise, experience, and knowledge through current staff, board, and volunteer leadership. We are currently meeting to share common values important to each council’s membership, to gain greater understanding of each council's internal operations and processes and to begin to design the new council.
A Council Realignment Committee (CRC), composed of the chairs of the four realigning councils’ Boards of Directors, the four CEOs and two additional volunteer representatives from each Council, plus the CEO’s of the non Oregon based councils, is co-chaired by Lorraine Thomas, Board Chair of Western Rivers and Candace Bartow, CEO of Winema Council.
The CRC has been meeting since September 2007. The committee is also advised by 10 subcommittees made up of CRC members, volunteers, staff and community members.
To ensure Girl Scouts remains the preeminent organization serving the girls, the leadership of the CRC will implement best practices surrounding Girl Scout programs, volunteerism, marketing, funding, membership, technology, governance, and structure.
