Anniversary Geocaching Program

Geocaching is a real-world, outdoor treasure hunting game using GPS-enabled devices. Participants navigate to a specific set of GPS coordinates and then attempt to find the geocache (container) hidden at that location.
To celebrate our 100th anniversary, Girl Scouts throughout our council have been placing caches around their neighborhoods for other Girl Scouts to find. Geocache coordinates are only available to Girl Scouts and all standard cache rules apply to this activity.
To get started, request an invitation to the Girl Scout Caching blog by sending an email to gscachers@gmail.com. On the blog you will find a list of all the caches that have been hidden with GPS coordinates and a short description (including zip code). In each cache you will find SWAPs to trade, so be sure to bring some that you made to leave behind for the next cacher!
Interested in hiding a cache (a small to medium water proof container that holds a logbook and pen in a zip lock bag and SWAPS for trading in a zip lock bag) for others to find? Contact gscachers@gmail.com to apply. To learn more about geocaching, visit geocaching.com.

Homestead Outdoor Program Center Centennial 
June 23, 2012
Join Girl Scouts OSW and the Mount Hood Cultural Center for an Open house centennial celebration at the Homestead Outdoor Program Center. Enjoy a variety of activities, including:
- Girl-led tours of the historic Barlow trail.
- Pioneer activities such as toy making, soap making and more.
- Dutch oven birthday cake and ice cream.
- All day showings of The Golden Eaglet, a film produced by Girl Scouts in 1918 featuring Girl Scout founder Juliette Gordon Low.
- Girl Scout historical displays and activities.

The Northwest Centennial Roundup 
August 6 - 12, 2012
Sunnyside County Park near Sweet Home, Oregon 
This event is for Girl Scout Ambassdors, Seniors, Cadettes and incoming Cadettes. Girls will need to attend in patrols and in the fall we will post more specifics including how patrols can prepare for the event. The cost of the event is $175, with a $50 deposit due at registration. Registrations will be accepted though May 1, 2012.
100th Anniversary Birthday Celebration

100th Anniversary Patch Contest
