Girl Scout Program

In Girl Scouting, Discover + Connect + Take Action = Leadership. All Girl Scout experiences are intentionally designed to tie to one or more of the 15 national leadership outcomes, or benefits, categorized under the three keys to leadership. This means that in every Girl Scout program delivered to girls of each age group, there will be a Discover, Connect and Take Action component. This ensures a consistent experience for girls across the country.

Discover: Girls understand themselves and their values and use their knowledge and skills to explore the world.
Connect: Girls care about, inspire, and team with others locally and globally.
Take Action: Girls act to make the world a better place.

What does it mean to be a member?

All members:

Have accepted the Girl Scout Promise and Law.
Follow safety guidelines.
Pay annual membership dues of $12.00. Dues go directly to Girl Scouts USA for the girl's national membership and provides secondary insurance for each girl during all Girl Scout events. Membership is from October 1 - September 30. No girl is denied participation; financial assistance is available.

In a unique girl-only environment, Girl Scouts build courage, confidence and character all while having fun! There are many ways a girl can participate in Girl Scouts – we have a program that’s just right for you!

To get started, click the link to your left to fill out an interest form, and someone will be in contact with you to answer your questions and help you get registered. The table below outlines the various ways to be involved in Girl Scouting (called "pathways") and gives you a little bit of information about each pathway.

If you would like to:	You need to:
Join a Girl Scout Troop Meet friends and have fun by joining a troop in your area.	Call your local Girl Scout Service Center to be directed to the Membership Manager in your area. This staff member will be able to connect you with a volunteer in your area who has information on troop availablity. You'll also need to complete the Girl Registration Form (financial assistance is available) and send it to the Girl Scout Service Center. While all girls are welcome in Girl Scouting, placement in troops is dependent upon the number of adult volunteers willing to lead. Without caring adults to step forward to help girls, we cannot guarantee that all interested girls can be placed in troops. Become an Individually Registered Girl Scout Be independent and plan your own adventures!	Fill out the Girl Registration Form (financial assistance is available) and send it in to the Girl Scout Service Center. To find out about our next event click here. Participate in Camp Whether it is Day Camp in Portland or a week away in Southern Oregon, camp is a great way for girls to discover their potential, connect with their peers, and take action to improve the world around them.
