Financial assistance is available for renewing girls and adults renewing into specific roles.
If there is need, the primary caregiver for the household may request financial assistance for girl and adult memberships at the payment screen during online registration. Financial assistance may only be requested by an adult for a member of their own household. Troop leaders are encouraged to share with all troop families that financial assistance is available.
Girl Scout troops are encouraged to budget for their girls' memberships with troop funds (a collective troop decision). Girls can also use program or pathway credits earned through the Girl Scout Cookie and Fall Product Programs. With that in mind, Girl Scout staff will confirm during the process if your girl has program or pathway credits available that can cover some, or all, of the renewal fees.
- If your girl does have program or pathway credits, we will email you to confirm that we can use up to $25 in program credits to renew your girl's membership.
- You and your girl may opt out of using program or pathway credits, but in that case, financial assistance will not be available, and you will need to renew your girl’s membership using another payment method.
- If your girl does not have program or pathway credits, we will automatically process and approve financial assistance.
To eliminate barriers to volunteer participation, financial assistance is available for adults renewing with the following volunteer roles:
- Troop Leader
- Troop Product Manager
- Troop Treasurer
- Juliette Mentor
