 Classic Camp

Classic Camp is the traditional overnight camp experience! Swimming, campfires, cookouts, paddling on the lake, games, crafts, songs and more! Each unit of girls plans their week of activities together with additional opportunities to choose activities individually. Each grade level has the opportunity to complete steps toward earning a Girl Scout badge, or even fully complete a badge!

Campers entering grades 4 and above will also get to choose skills to focus on throughout the session. This approach allows campers to get to know their instructors, progressively build skills and gain confidence each day. The activities offered will vary by week.

   NEW! Classic Camp with Horses

Just added for this summer is Classic Camp with Horses! Enjoy all of the fun of Classic Camp PLUS spend 90 minutes each full day learning basic equine needs like feeding and grooming and getting to know the horses at Whispering Winds. This session will be one to remember with two separate opportunities for rides: a staff-led bareback ride around the arena, and a short staff-led trail ride around camp.

 NEW! Saddle Club

Just added for this summer is Saddle Club! Much like traditional Horse Camp, this camp also offers classic camp activities with the added focus of horses and horseback riding. Campers will spend one hour each full day of camp riding (weather permitting). Saddle Club campers will also have the opportunity to spend morning and evening time with horse wranglers getting hands on experience caring for horses. This camp session is a great stepping-stone between traditional Horse Camp sessions and becoming a Wrangler-in-Training!

 Horse Camp

Horse camp offers classic camp activities with an added specialty focus on horses and horseback riding. Girls will spend one hour each full day of camp riding (weather permitting) and additional time learning about horses, riding styles, and equestrian grooming and care. Riders will be placed with groups of similar abilities to improve their riding skills. Beginners are welcome, and more experienced riders will get to try faster gaits and more advanced challenges.

 Friends and Family Camp

Experience classic camp as a troop or family group, with these unique programs:

Family Day at Overnight Camp

Try camp on for the day! Camp staff will lead swimming, boating, crafts and a nature activity. Whether you’re a first-time camper or a pro, this is a great way to get a glimpse of the overnight camp experience. Lunch and a snack are provided. Family Day is available for girls (and boys!) entering grades 1-12. To keep this session affordable, this program does not include a camp t-shirt (one can be purchased at the Trading Post).

June 30 Cost: $15/person
Core Camp

Enjoy a few days of overnight camp with your Girl Scout troop. Multiple troops live together in the same unit, and troop leaders actively participate in camp with girls. Overnight camp staff lead swimming, boating, crafts and nature activities. Archery is available for girls entering grades 4 and up. Core Camp is available for girls entering grades 1-12.

August 5-7 Cost: $155/person
She and Me

Experience the wonder of camp with your girl! Make memories as you enjoy staff-led swimming, boating, crafts, nature activities and campfires. She and Me is a great way to try overnight camp for the first time. Mountain biking and ar4chery are available for girls entering grades 4 and above. She and Me is available for girls entering grades 1-12 with a female adult.

Me and My Guy

Experience the wonder of camp with your girl! Make memories while you enjoy staff-led boating, crafts, swimming and more. Me and My Guy is a great way to try overnight camp for the first time. Mountain biking and archery are available for girls entering grades 4 and above. Me and My Guy is available for girls entering grades 1-12 with a male adult.

August 19-21 Cost: $155/person


 Specialty Camp

With specialty camp, girls focus on a particular skill, expedition or experience in addition to the classic camp activities. Review the options below with your camper to see if a specialty camp is right for her!

Entering Grades 4-6

Pottery
Get your hands dirty as you get creative in the world of pottery! Paint your very own slip cast piece and work with clay both by hand and on a wheel.

Entering Grades 7-12

Backpacking

Learn backpacking skills and trek into the outer parts of Whispering Winds! Practice packing for trips, outdoor cooking, and Leave No Trace before putting your new skills to the test on a three day, two night trip into the Whispering Winds wilderness. Backpacks are provided for each girl.

 Leadership Programs

Leadership programs are available for girls entering grades 9-12. These programs help develop skills and offer experience needed to be a camp counselor. Girls get to practice working directly with campers and camp staff as they learn to plan and facilitate activities, assess campers’ needs, and develop leadership and outdoor skills. Have your camper answer these  Leadership Readiness Questions to see if she's ready for a Leadership program. Then review the options below with your camper to see if a leadership program is right for her. 

Entering Grades 9-12

Outdoor Leader
Discover your leadership potential! Explore your leadership skills and style while you learn about group dynamics and what it means to be a camp leader. Help lead activities for younger girl groups at camp! 

August 5-17 Cost: $685/610/540
Entering Grades 10-12

Wrangler-in-Training (WIT)
Learn what it takes to be a wrangler (a type of counselor with a special focus on horse care and safety)! Plan and facilitate riding lessons as you develop your leadership skills working with campers, staff and horses. Knowledge of horses and recent riding experience is required.

July 8-August 3 Cost: $860/785/715

While this program runs July 8-August 3, campers will go home Friday, July 20 at 2:30 pm and return to camp Sunday, July 22 at 2:30 pm.

New this year:
Due to limited space, high demand for CIT/WIT programs and our desire to provide the highest quality leadership experience, an application process has been implemented for these sessions. These sessions are designed for those who have a love for camp and have demonstrated a strong desire to expand their leadership skills working with children.

The application is now open. Apply here!
Application reviews and the scheduling of interviews will begin on February 15, 2018. Any applications received after this time will still be reviewed based on available space.

Entering Grades 11-12 or Entering College

Junior Counselor or Junior Wrangler
Work at camp! Get paid as you continue to develop your leadership skills and work toward becoming a unit counselor. Work in all aspects of camp including sleeping units, program areas, and assisting in the camp kitchen and administrative office. Available for girls entering grades 11-12 or entering college. Prerequisite: CIT or WIT.
