This course teaches adults the skills to teach girls to go camping when one or more of the following amenities is missing (water, heat, toilets, lights, kitchen facilities, and cell/phone coverage). The approximately 9 hour training includes hands on instruction allowing adults to learn how to teach girls at all levels to safely prepare food, cook outdoors and manage a campsite. This training is only available in group setting. It is recommended that this training be taken at least 3 months before a group plans an outing.

Blender Basics Day Camp

Come learn how to use some of the basic features in Blender! Blender is a free and open source 3D animation suite. We will be focusing on creating 3D models, adding texture to our models, and animating them. This event will run on April 6 - April 10, from 1pm to 5pm daily. This event is for Girl Scout Juniors, Cadettes, Seniors, and Ambassadors. This event does not work towards earning a specific badge, but you may be able to apply some of the skills learned to the Junior Entertainment Technology Badge, the Cadette Digital Movie Maker Badge, or other badges and journeys! At least 2 adult volunteers must attend this day camp in order to meet Girl Scout Safety Ratio. Camp Arrowhead Spring Work Party

Come help get camp ready for spring and summer camping! Get fresh air and do service at the same time. Come to Camp Arrowhead for the day as a family or as a troop and help. Projects are available for all abilities from sweeping, light building, setting up tents, trail work and who knows what else. Those who wish to spend the night may do so, at no cost, but must advise ahead of time. Lunch will be provided. All girls working will get a $20 certificate to be used for a resident camp session in 2015. There will also be a drawing for one $100 certificate for a resident camp session in 2015, as well as one free week for a resident camp session in 2015.

Wilderness First Aid

This weekend course provides a foundation of First Aid principles and skills for individuals responding to remote emergencies when immediate emergency medical services will be delayed or unavailable. This is a scenario based class, so there will be a lot of hands on practice of skills. This is a 2-year certification and fulfills the first aid requirements for when access to EMS is more than 30 minutes away.

Bald Mountain Forest Clean-up

Location: Sheridan Peak

We will be attempting to not only clean up the OHV area on Bald Mountain, but the rest of the mountain as well. The area will include Baker Creek, Peavine, Meadow Lake, White Rd, Willamina Creek, Coast Creek, Wanless Rd and all points in between including the OHV area. Location maps will be provided at Sheridan Peak, hotdogs will be served when you are done. Take part in cleaning up your Public Lands for a couple hours or all day. Please bring work gloves & wear sturdy shoes- boots if you have them. Volunteers with 4 x 4 vehicles that can transport the debris we collect from the work site to a staging area would be appreciated. Activities include: Litter Cleanup.

Seaside's Treasure the Beach May Beach Cleanup

Girls get behind-the-scenes tour of the vet hospital and animal kitchen, up-close animal presentations and a campfire with s’mores to end a wonderful evening. You will get an evening snack, breakfast and admission to the zoo the next day. Dinner is not included. The parking lot is pay to park. Trimet Blue and Red MAX lines both stop at Washington Park. This is not a drop-off event. Girls are required to be accompanied by an adult or their troop. Adults who are attending MUST register for this event. Troops must follow all rules for overnight travel. Please speak to your Service Unit's Event and Travel Coordinator if you have questions about these rules.
