Young Rembrandts Summer Camps: Fashion Runway

Join us for a fashion-themed 4-day summer camp. Girls will learn basic drawing and coloring techniques to focus on drawing people, faces, and clothing. From fashion accessories to hairstyles to clothing, artists will have a great time each day. On our final day, artists will create a 11x17 Masterpiece and bring home a portfolio of art This class will meet daily on July 6-9 from 10 am - 12:30 pm.

Program Aide Training

Program Aide is a special mentoring programs designed for older girls to share their skills and experiences with younger girls. Girls learn to identify and build the six simple machines then use their own ideas and creativity to create and combine designs and build a machine of their own. Hands on activities using Legos and other building materials give girls the opportunity to practice what they already know and build on their mechanical skills. A week of scientific method, team work, songs, games, and smarts.

SU Membership Recruiter Training

Membership Recruiters (MRs) create visibility for Girl Scouts in their service unit. They develop a network of volunteers who share information with elementary and middle schools and coordinate Girl Scout participation in school events. They distribute recruitment materials, fliers, interest lists, and yard signs throughout the SU. MRs develop annual calendars of opportunitues for Girl Scouts to take part in local community events, and provide materials for fun and informative activities and troop thank yous. MRs ensure that event interest lists are submitted to GSOSW in a timely way. They are supported by Membership and Community Engagement staff.

Young Rembrandts Summer Camps: Pattern and Design with Chalk Pastels

Artists will have spend four days learning the proper techniques for designing and coloring with chalk pastels. Girls will get an introduction to working with this fun medium, then they will work on a number of smaller pictures and complete 2 large masterpieces on 11x17 paper. Service Unit 25 Campout

Come experience Wildlife Safari under the moonlight with your fellow Girl Scouts. With this year’s theme being Home Sweet Habitat, you will explore a variety of habitats from around the world, learn all about what animals need to survive, and create your own habitat in your tent under the stars. This experience includes a hands-on animal presentation, a guided ‘Leave No Trace’ night hike, as well as a fire and S’mores to end the night. Fall asleep to frogs and crickets and wake up to the awesome sound of roaring lions. After a Wildlife Safari breakfast, we will head out to explore the homes of one of our carnivores during a private encounter! Adults must register for the event.
