Celebrate Girl Scouts Love State Parks Weekend 2020

The second annual Girl Scouts Love State Parks Weekend is September 11-13, 2020! Each year during this special weekend, Girl Scouts explore the natural wonders found across the United States to celebrate our shared love for the outdoors.

Although there are no scheduled in-person events in Oregon or Washington due to COVID-19 concerns, there are still plenty of exciting virtual ways for Girl Scouts to participate and earn the 2020 State Parks Weekend patch.

Participate in Girl Scouts Love State Parks Weekend Virtually!
This year, there are dozens of virtual state parks experiences from across the country for Girl Scouts to enjoy! Explore all options, including:

  • An interactive map presenting 50 tours of 50 parks.
  • GSUSA’s new Girl Scouts Love State Parks virtual passport.
  • Live virtual events. Take a virtual hike, learn Leave No Trace principles, attend astronomy programs and more. Some events require advance registration, so check them out now.
  • Local to GSOSW, Washington State Parks will host a free “Ask a Ranger Astronomy Hour” on their Facebook page on Friday, September 11 at 6:30 PDT.

Earn Your 2020 State Parks Weekend Patch
To earn their 2020 patch, girls can participate in any of the virtual options this weekend. Patches are available to purchase through the GSOSW shop. Remember, the 2020 patch is different from the GSOSW Passport patch and is only available this year. Contact the GSOSW shops to order with free shipping by emailing

Most state parks are open year-round. Find a park in Oregon or Washington, and plan a winter adventure to continue to build your outdoor skills!
