Girls in the Woods Week: September 21-25, 2020

girls-in-the-woods-week-web

Your Girl Scout may love being outside, but does she know she can pursue a future career in the outdoor industry? Join this week-long celebration of women in outdoor careers, inspired by GSOSW’s annual backpacking trip in the Willamette National Forest

Cadettes, Seniors and Ambassadors are invited to take a behind-the-scenes look at careers with the US National Forest Service through videos with women who work in botany, recreation, timber and more. Tune into the GSOSW Facebook page for live panel interviews with women who work in wildlife biology, oceanography and mapping, and comment to ask them questions in real time. Get tips to build your outdoor skills and explore a variety of career possibilities each day between September 21-25! This program is free with no registration required.

Plus, Cadettes, Seniors and Ambassadors can get a head start on the brand-new Outdoor Career Exploration: Trails to Your Future patch program. This patch program features interviews with women who have outdoor work experience, career preparation activities and tips to help Girl Scouts land their dream outdoor job. The patch program kicks off on Monday, September 21, 2020.
