The USA Archery Level 1 Instructor certification course, which certifies participants to lead archery programs for three years, provides graduates the necessary tools to maintain a high level of safety both on and off the archery range for camps and beginner archery programs. Participants will learn about range safety, range setup, the steps of shooting, equipment and repair, programs and lesson plans and is well prepared to teach beginner archery programs to people of all ages and abilities in a variety of disciplines.
This is a blended learning class. Participants must successfully pass the USA Archery Level 1 Instructor Certification online course (it will take about 3 hours to complete the online portion) before completing the practical course to officially receive a USA Archery Level 1 Instructor certificate of completion.
More information about how to access that course will be provided closer to the training date. If you do not receive that information via email by 5pm the Friday before in-person training, please email answers@girlscoutsosw.org so staff can assist as soon as possible.
Other Important Information:
If the number of registrants does not meet the required minimum by the cancellation deadline, the training will be cancelled and participants will be notified and fully refunded.
GSOSW volunteer trainings are adult, member-only and council-only, events. Please make other arrangements for your children.
Participants are welcome to stay overnight at camp Friday or Saturday night as needed. No meals provided. Indoor & Outdoor cooking areas and kitchens will be available.
Whispering Winds Training Palooza Weekend:
This event is part of a larger outdoor training palooza at Camp Whispering Winds from June 3-4, 2023. Please note: Participants in this event cannot also register for the 6/3-6/4 Outdoor Skills Training or 6/3-6/4 Small Craft Safety Training, as those training times conflict.
