Please note: Participants must be present for the entire course to receive credit for the training. The trainer will evaluate late arrival participation. GSOSW volunteer trainings are adult, member-only events. Please make other arrangements for your children.

Request a training in your area with the GSOSW Volunteer Training Interest Form. Submitting this form does not guarantee that a training will be scheduled for the requested date, but we will do our best to accommodate your request.
Tips for success:
Training minimums:
In-person trainings: Five volunteers
Live virtual trainings: Three volunteers
Not having the minimum number of volunteers does not mean the answer is "no," but it may result in delays as we find more interested participants before we can offer the training.
Training dates:
Requests must be made at least 12 weeks prior to the preferred training date.
Some trainings, like Before You Camp Like a Girl Scout (formerly Outdoor Skills) and Small Craft Safety, are only offered seasonally, typically between late April and early October
Training location:
If you already have a location that can host this training without a rental fee, please let us know on the interest form!

Join our Trainer Corps
The Council Trainer Corps works with Volunteer Learning Services staff liaisons to develop, audit, and deliver required training, certifications/qualifications, and workshops. They are integral in relaying feedback from volunteers to staff to ensure council training is relevant and engaging.
