This expo-style event - open to Girl Scouts, their families and friends - features everything cool about being a G.I.R.L.! Explore topics like STEM, financial literacy, sports, the arts, outdoor adventure and more. Don’t miss the live entertainment stage! Plus, Girl Scout Cadettes, Seniors and Ambassadors can learn and lead at the second annual Teen Conference. Detailed information on booths, workshops and entertainment can be found below.

NW Dance Project Create your own greeting cards with the beautiful images of NW Dance Project dancers and learn more about training and performance opportunities.
Beaverton Civic Theatre Have you ever wondered what it was like to be a girl in the 1930s? Juniors can earn "Playing the Past" badge at this booth. BCT can help you create a 1930's character like the ones in their production of A Hundred Dresses.
QSP/Ashdon Farms Discover and share your personal super power, create a personalized magnet, sample product and view fall recognitions.
Sapphire Skin Care & Healing Learn how to wash your face and apply skin care products!
National Wildlife Federation This hands-on activity will help provide you with project ideas to make your local wildlife habitat ready for certification and earn an Animal Habitat Badge.
AutoZone Portland Region Learn how to check your oil, lights, and various car maintenance needs on an AutoZone car.
Society of Women Engineers Learn all about the different disciplines of engineering and possible careers in STEM. Get hands-on experience with engineering demos!

The Association of Women in Automotive Find out how dexterous your fingers are without using your eyes by playing with our dexterity boxes. Use tools to take apart some car parts and learn a bit about cars and how they work.

Oregon Humane Society Girl Scouts will have the opportunity to spin the wheel and test their knowledge by answering a pet-related question. They willl also have the opportunity to make a GirlFest/Oregon Humane Society button and do a small craft. Handouts on dog body language/dog safety and cat body language will also be available.
Oregon Zoo Explore pelts and skulls and other hands-on activities highlighting what you get to do at these overnight or camp events at the zoo!
Pacific NW Regional Council of Carpenters Meet professional women carpenters and build something!

Spring Blooms: Troop 40089 Pick up some mason jar herb gardens and spring bulbs and ask this troop of Juniors where they're going on their big troop trip!

Workshops

 

Latino Network: Ballet Folklorico Learn the proper forms for Ballet Folklorico from the Veracruz region. These forms include: "faldeo" (movement of the skirt), the correct posture, and footwork.
Wildlife Safari  Rainy Rainforests: What makes up the different layers of a rainforest? Which animals live where? Which of our actions help a rainforest and which hurt them? Grab your explorer cap and binoculars, peer up into the canopy, and join us for an animal expedition workshop all about one of the most biodiverse places on the planet – the rainforest! This workshop will include an animal themed activity and live animals to meet!
NW Dance Project Sweat it out with NW Dance Project! Participate in a dance workshop focusing on movement fundamentals and creating choreography.
DoveLewis Life of a Veternarian: practice bandaging a stuffed animal, understand animal skeletons, and learn how and why to prep for surgery!
Anchored Creative Arts Passport to Dance: Girls will learn several exciting dances from Around the World! Passport to Dance workshops are a fun and unique way to earn badges for World Thinking Day, Brownie's Dancer, and Junior's Playing the Past. Let the adventure begin!

Latino Network: Ballet Folklorico Latino Network's dance troupe Corazones Alegres will perform an array of regions from the ballet folklorico tradition: Veracruz, Sinaloa, and Jalisco. JL Introduction: Introducing Latino Network's Ballet Folklorico "Corazones Alegres"! Ballet Folklórico honors and promotes Mexican culture, heritage, and identity through traditional dance classes and performances for youth and the community. "Corazones Alegres" is an Arts & Culture program of the social service agency Latino Network whose mission is to positively transform the lives of Latino youth, families, and community. Wildlife Safari

Animal Mythbusters: You’ve heard that opossums can hang from their tails, that parrots make awesome talking pets and that snakes are slimy. But can these be true? Get ready to be up close with these animals and to help debunk a bunch of animal myths!

Cheetah Friends: With over 200 cheetahs born, Wildlife Safari is one of the top cheetah breeding facilities in the world. Meet a pair of young cheetahs who were raised together and learn about how these powerful and magnificent animals help in spreading awareness about cheetah conservation.

Teen Conference

Hands-on projects, civic engagement and networking!
Cadettes, Seniors and Ambassadors have exclusive access to the second annual Teen Conference, a space created just for teen girls to earn their Global Action Award. This year’s theme is sustainable development. Girls can participate in an activity from the Girltopia Journey and learn from local experts joining us to share their expertise about sustainable development and inspire girls to figure out ways they can help further the cause. 

Badges

The following are badges that girls can earn at GirlFest 2018! Most girls will be able to complete all steps toward earning a badge, but some badges do not allow for all steps to be completed at GirlFest. Families can buy these badges at the GSOSW pop-up shop on-site!
