Kati Moyer was awarded the National Appreciation Pin for her tremendous work with Service Unit 69 in Central Oregon! Kati has been involved in Girl Scouts in a variety of ways including as a troop leader, registrar on the service team, and event director. As event director, Kati partnered with the event and travel coordinator in the area to facilitate events that were available to troops all over Central Oregon.
In one year Kati facilitated 11 events, which provided a wide array of opportunities for girls and leaders in the area. These included a Girl Scout Glow Party, open to all age levels and attended by 230 girls, a Summer Splash event for all age levels, which was attended by 297 girls, and many grade level specific events. These events were opened up to the neighboring Service Unit 68 to provide more opportunities for girls in the greater geographic area—a partnership that has continued to grow through crossover opportunities for girls and leaders.
Kati made these events happen by managing the details before, during and after each event. She handled all the logistics necessary for the event in order for it to go forward without a hitch. This included negotiating event fees, coordinating the programming to be offered, booking venues, and securing additional Girl Scout insurance as needed. She also took on the task of managing event registration and fees and was on hand at each event to troubleshoot any issues that arose.
Kati dedicates her time not only to the girls in her troop, but to all Girl Scouts in her area. She is an incredible asset to Girl Scouting and an inspirational role model for girls and leaders alike. Congratulations on your Appreciation Pin Kati!
