We join with our community and all who love the outdoors and the beautiful Pacific Northwest in sadness over the many fires burning in our region, and our hearts go out to those whose homes and livelihoods are impacted by this devastating fire season.
As you are likely aware, the Eagle Creek fire burning in the Columbia River Gorge has jumped the river and is now burning near Archer Mountain in Washington. This fire is burning roughly 20 miles from Girl Scouts of Oregon and Southwest Washington’s Camp Arrowhead in Stevenson, Washington; however, at this time the fire is burning away from the property and poses no direct threat to camp. We are in contact with Skamania County authorities and will continue to monitor the situation closely.
The safety and well-being of Girl Scout members and staff is always our top priority. Overnight camp at Camp Arrowhead has concluded for the summer, and troop/user group reservations will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis with safety being our primary focus. Groups or individuals without reservations are not permitted on camp property at any time.
