During the Salmon Watch Exploring Rivers program you will uncover the world of salmon, invasive species, conservation, and ecology through an interactive trip into a natural area in the local watershed. Explore and discover a freshwater ecosystem that is located close to where we all live.You will start with an interactive lesson on invasive species, learning about how they impact our watersheds and salmon. In the afternoon you will participate in service work related to the invasive species you learned about in the morning! The activities are designed to inspire your curiosity, let you experiment with scientific skills and methodology, and embolden you to be a leader in environmental stewardship.

Participant Information
This event is open to current Girl Scout members and youth interested in becoming Girl Scout members. Invite a friend to join you! Not yet a member? This event is a great way to try Girl Scoutsafter selecting a youth ticket, choose non-member when registering for this event.


Girls must be accompanied by a parent, guardian, or troop leader. Adults do not need to register for this activity. This is not a drop-off activity.

Price
$5-7.50/girl

In order to apply your Girl Scout's Program Credits to her balance for an event registration, please select to pay with Program Credits during registration AND complete the GSOSW Events Program Credit Payment Form and be sure to read all form instructions before submitting. Our council can only accept Program Credit payments from GSOSW members.

Badge and/or Patch Information
Juniors will work towards their Animal Habitats badge. Cadettes will work towards their Eco Trekker and Tree badge. Badges not included.

Food
Please bring a lunch, snacks, and water for the day.

Supplies
If you have work golves please bring them, but they are not required.

Attending as a troop/group? Follow the safety ratios listed in Volunteer Essentials. Note: attending with any girl other than your own qualifies you as a Girl Scout group that needs to follow ratio requirements.

Adult Training Requirements
Adults must have completed either Girl Scouts Inside & Out Parts 1 & 2 OR Day Trips Training. There are no adult training requirements for those chaperoning a single girl or Juliette.

Registration, Cancellation & Refund Information
Registration for this activity is hosted by Girl Scouts - Please email answers@girlscoutsosw.org on or before the registration deadline for assistance.

Registration closes on May 26. Request for cancellation/refund or transfer must be submitted via email to answers@girlscoutsosw.org by this date. A refund less the council administrative fee is available.

GSOSW reserves the right to cancel an event due to low enrollment or other circumstances which would make the event non-viable. If GSOSW cancels an event, registrants will be notified and offered a full refund.
