This training teaches adults the skills to earn the Low Ropes facilitator qualification (valid for three years). The Low Ropes facilitator qualification allows you to safely and properly facilitate a low ropes course experience. You'll learn about name games, ice-breakers, initiatives, trust, spotting, and the elements of the course as well as how to debrief the entire experience. Participants will also be trained to assess and mitigate risk for participants as well as themselves. Risk Management includes understanding incident and near-miss trends while critically thinking and planning ahead to prevent potentially unsafe situations both emotional and physical. Participants should come to this training ready to participate, engage in the instructor-led activities, and learn by doing.

This course is a part of the Whispering Winds June Training Palooza and occurs at the same time as some other trainings that are being offered. Attendees should view this Training Palooza chart to confirm that they are not signing up for trainings that conflict with one another. If you've accidentally double-booked your time, please email answers@girlscoutsosw.org and we can help rearrange your training schedule.
