Ready to take the next step in travel with your troop after a
successful overnights together? This workshop will support volunteers
with best practices and tools to use in helping Girl Scouts plan a
girl-led trip of 2 - 3 nights within the council region (no more than
a 6 hour drive from home). This workshop picks up where Girl Scouts
Inside and Out Part 2/Before your First Overnight leaves off. It
assumes the participants have done several field trips, long day trips
and at least one night overnight trip with their troop/group. All
participants will leave the training with a binder of tools and
resources to help them support their troop in planning a short trip.
- Identify 3 types of short trips based on leader
readiness.
- List 3 financial considerations for a short
trip.
- Describe 3 components of a girl-led short trip.
- Use at least 2 planning tools that promote girl trip planning,
decision making and skills development.
- Create a planning
timeline for a short trip.
Participant Information
- This is a Girl Scout activity for registered members
only.
- This is an adults-only training.
- This
training is for troop leaders who have already supported overnights
and a short trip (2-3 nights) with their troop.
