This is part 1 of a 2-part series specifically for backpacking. In
this one day classroom type training, you will explore and learn about
the different types of gear that is available and needed for
backpacking. You will learn how to choose and fit the gear that is
right for you. You will also learn about important planning
considerations for taking a troop backpacking including but not
limited to trail selection, getting to the trailhead, and permitting.
No backpacking gear is required to take this class.
Participant Information
- This training will take place from 9 am to 3 pm on
10/11.
- This training is open to Seniors, Ambassadors, and
Adults
- Youth participants must be accompanied by a
registered parent, guardian or troop leader AND adults are required
to register and pay. This is not a drop-off activity.

- Request for
cancellation must be submitted via email to answers@gsosw.org
by this date in order to receive a refund less this training's
cancellation fee ($8).
- No refunds will be given after the
registration deadline.
- GSOSW reserves the right to cancel
an event due to low enrollment or other circumstances which would
make the event non-viable. If GSOSW cancels an event, registrants
will be notified and offered a full refund.
