Date: Thu Mar 12, 6:00 PM PDT - Thu Mar 12, 8:00 PM PDT
Come learn vital skills to help your Girl Scouts prepare to leave
your regular meeting place! This training is the second in our
"Before" series and has replaced Girl Scouts Inside and Out
Part 1 in the required adult training progression. This training is
required before you leave the meeting place and after you've held 3-6
troop meetings so that you have a solid understanding of your troop's
dynamics and progression level.
Objectives/Outcomes of this training:
- Prepare to assist Girl Scouts with planning and implementing
safe, fun, and successful meetings and short outings close to the
meeting place.
- Learn more about troop logistics,
readiness, progression, and how to keep everything you do with your
troop girl-led.
- Interact with and learn from other
leaders
- Learn from real examples of solutions to challenges
faced when first leaving the meeting place with Girl Scouts.
Participant Information
- This training will take place from 6 to 8 pm on 3/12. This
training will take place at online via Zoom.
- A
confirmation email with additional details will be sent out a few
days before the training.
- Participants need to be present
for an entire course in order to receive credit for the training.
Late arrival participation will be evaluated by the trainer.
- If you are able to attend this training in person at our Blitz
on 3/28, please register for that training to allow for this virtual
offering to be open to volunteers who are unable to travel.
Live Virtual Training Expectations
- As a courtesy to our more rural Girl Scouts, please consider
attending an in-person training if you are able. Many members live
4+ hours away from in-person trainings, and this virtual training
may be their only opportunity to attend.
- To ensure the
safety of all of our volunteers and members, please join the
training from a safe location (home, office, other safe building),
and not a vehicle.
- Participants joining from vehicles will
be removed from the training call for their safety.
- Review
the training information and prerequisites and ensure that you've
taken all necessary steps to complete them.
- Participate
fully throughout training. These trainings require your full
attention, with little-to-no interruption.
- Participants
must be present for the entire course in order to receive credit for
the training. Late arrival participation will be evaluated by the
trainer.
- Live virtual training is best experienced on a
computer, laptop, or tablet.
- This is an active training
that will not work well on a phone and may be challenging on a
tablet.
- Please request accommodations prior to the training
date if needed.
- On-camera participation and full
engagement throughout the entire training are required for
credit.
- GSOSW volunteer trainings are adult, member-only,
and council-only events. Please make other arrangements for your
children.
