Join us for a fun, interactive training designed to help you prepare
your Girl Scouts to plan and take truly girl-led trips! This training
is required before your first indoor overnight trip lasting one to
three nights within six hours of your meeting place or within the
council borders. An indoor overnight trip is defined as staying
overnight in an enclosed structure with running water, heat, flush
toilets, electricity, kitchen facilities or a restaurant, and
phone/cell coverage.
Objectives/Outcomes of this training:
- Learn how to teach your troop to make a plan for an outing
including transportation, budget, meals, dress, gear, and activity
planning.
- Learn to prepare Girl Scouts to pack for
themselves and the troop.
- Prepare to lead your Girl Scouts
in progression from day trips to almost overnights to overnight
trips lasting three or fewer nights.
- Continue progression
in how to keep everything you do with your troop girl-led.
- Learn how to help Girl Scouts and their caregivers prepare for
them to sleep without adults in the room.
Participant Information
- This training will take place from 9 am to 11:30 am on 3/28.
This training will take place at Mill Plain United Methodist Church,
Vancouver.
- A confirmation email with additional details will
be sent out a few days before the training.
- Participants
need to be present for an entire course in order to receive credit
for the training. Late arrival participation will be evaluated by
the trainer.

Prerequisite Training Requirements
- Before You Leave the Meeting Place (OR Girl Scouts Inside
& Out Part 1)
- This training is to be taken before your
first overnight and after practicing the skills from previous
training with your Girl Scouts for at least three months.
Registration, Cancellation & Refund Information
- Registration closes on 3/25.
- Request for
cancellation must be submitted via email to answers@gsosw.org
by this date in order to receive a refund less this training's
cancellation fee ($3).
- No refunds will be given after the
registration deadline.
- GSOSW reserves the right to cancel
an event due to low enrollment or other circumstances which would
make the event non-viable. If GSOSW cancels an event, registrants
will be notified and offered a full refund.
