Thilaga was concerned about the effect media stereotypes about athletes’ bodies could have on teen athletes. She researched the topic, got expert advice, recruited peer athletes, created content, and held two workshops for teens. During the workshops, the participants shared their experiences and learned about stereotypes and healthy ways to respond to them. Thilaga also created a website filled with her information and tips on how to hold additional workshops. She publicized the website to workshop attendees, school counselors, and coaches.
