Do you like pie? Of course! Just about everyone likes pie, but what about pi—the amazing mathematical number?! Well, here at Girl Scouts, we LOVE pi, and we’re gearing up for Pi Day on March 14!
Celebrate any way you choose this year and earn the first year patch in the Pi(e) Day patch series! After participating in a Pi Day activity, complete the Pi(e) Day Patch Request Form, and we will send you your patch for free!
Earn your Pi(e) Day patch series by celebrating Pi Day each year. You’ll earn a different slice of pie to wear on the back of your uniform—eventually, you’ll complete your very own pie!
Each year you participate in any Pi Day celebration or activity, you can earn a Pi(e) Day series patch! These activities include attending a service unit or council event, doing something at school, hosting a celebration with your troop, or even having a piece of pie at home with friends or family.
This year, all participating Girl Scouts will receive their Pi(e) Day patch for free by filling out the Pi(e) Day Patch Request Form after celebrating Pi Day. If you participate in a Pi Day activity as a troop or service unit, please consider having the leader of the event/troop fill out the form and request patches for all participants.
The form will be open from March 1 to April 30. Patches will be mailed out in late May. If you want to receive the patch and do not fill out the form by the deadline, the patch will be available for purchase at the Girl Scout shop.
NOTE: This patch program started in 2024, and only the first year's patch is available. In 2025, the second year and the first year will be available. In 2026, the third, second, and first years will be available, and so on, until all eight patches have been released.
Host your own Pi Day event with the Pi Day Event Resource—designed for troop leaders, service unit members, and other adults or older Girl Scouts interested in hosting an event for Pi Day!
Contact your service unit GEM (or, if your service unit does not have a GEM, contact answers@girlscoutsosw.org) to access the Pi Day Event Resource.
When you host an event, consider having the event leader submit the Pi(e) Day Patch Request Form for your group to request patches for all participants.
Can’t attend a Pi Day event or host your own event? Then, take on the Pi Day Celebration Challenge!
Complete a series of short activities relating to the amazing number pi with simple supplies you most likely already have at home. After you complete six of the seven Pi Day Celebration Challenge activities, submit the Pi(e) Day Patch Request Form before April 30 to receive your patch!
