Financial Assistance

Girl Scouts of Oregon and Southwest Washington offers financial assistance for membership and various programmatic activities. Learn more about financial assistance options for girls and adults below.

Annual Membership Fees for New Members (Girls and Adults)

We offer 100% financial assistance to all new members in need, no questions asked.

  • Please be sure to select the Request Financial Assistance checkbox during your or your girl’s registration.

Annual Membership Fees for Renewing Girls

We offer partial to 100% financial assistance to all renewing girl members in need. For more details, please see the special note below.

  • Please be sure to select the Request Financial Assistance checkbox during your registration.

Special Note: Girl Scouts are encouraged to budget for their girl's memberships either with troop funds or using their program credits. With that in mind, Girl Scout staff will confirm during processing if your girl has program credits available that can cover some or all of the renewal fees.

  • If your girl does have program credits, we will email you to confirm that we can use up to $25 in program credits to renew your girl’s membership.

  • You and your girl may opt out of using program credits, but in that case, financial assistance will not be available, and you will need to renew your girl’s membership using another payment method.

  • If your girl does not have program credits, we will automatically process and approve financial assistance.

Annual Membership Fees for Renewing Adults

We encourage troops to budget for the cost of membership for girls and volunteers; however, we understand that sometimes this isn’t possible.

To eliminate barriers to volunteer participation, beginning October 1, 2021, financial assistance will be available for renewing adults with the following volunteer roles:

  • Troop Leader
  • Troop Cookie/Product Manager
  • Troop Treasurer
  • Juliette Mentor

Additionally, some service units offer financial support opportunities. To connect with your service unit, email answers@girlscoutsosw.org.

Book and Uniform

Girl Scouts offers financial assistance for a Girl Scout’s uniform components (including one tunic, sash, or vest, troop numbers, flag patch, council ID set) and 50% off the price of a Girl’s Guide to Girl Scouting, Journey book, or Badge Activity Set. This assistance is available one time only during a girl’s Girl Scout experience. To request this financial assistance, please complete the Uniform and Book Assistance Request form.

Special Note: The Girl Scout must be registered for the current membership year before her caregiver submits the Uniform and Book Assistance Request form. Families will receive an email within three business days regarding the status of the request. Orders may be fulfilled at any Girl Scout Shop. Families that don’t live near a Girl Scout Shop may call (800) 905-5605 to fulfill their order over the phone or email shop@girlscoutsosw.org and have the order mailed to their home.

Overnight Camp

Overnight Camp Tiered Pricing

Girl Scouts uses tiered pricing to keep camp affordable for all families while also expressing the true cost of overnight camp. Tier one reflects the actual cost of camp including staffing, program supplies, food and maintenance costs. Tier two is a partially subsidized fee, and tier three is our fully subsidized fee. Regardless of what tier your family is able to pay, all girls will enjoy the same high quality camp experience. Please visit the Overnight Camp registration page for more information.

Overnight Camp Financial Assistance (Campership)

Overnight camp financial assistance (campership) is available for all girls. Select tier three pricing when requesting financial assistance. Please visit our Overnight Camp registration page for more information.
