Minority Voices in Youth Theater
Ella | Eugene, Oregon
Ella wanted to address the lack of diverse representation in youth theater productions. In response, using criteria she vetted with theater professionals, she and her team created an online catalog of youth-suitable plays that tell stories from many different communities and backgrounds. She publicized her catalog during workshops at state thespian events, and the State Thespian Organization agreed to link to it on its website, creating a statewide resource for future productions.
Ella is a Luella and George Shaver Family Scholarship recipient. Congratulations, Ella!
