Kira noticed that rabbits are a sought-after pet and often purchased as gifts, especially around Easter time, but that many people do not know how to actually care for these animals, so they end up being surrendered to shelters or abandoned. She partnered with Rose City Rabbit Rescue, compiled information and resources, and made a video about how to properly care for these special creatures. The video covers whether or not having a rabbit is right for you, their diet, bonding activities, and rabbit body language, as well as other things potential rabbit owners should consider. She and her team created publicity materials to share the video and left them in locations where people adopt or purchase rabbits. She also ran a local rabbit care class and has future classes planned.
