Retention Pond Restoration

Clover organized four work sessions over 6 months to restore a retention pond and improve its function by filtering surface water runoff into a local stream. She recruited and trained over 70 volunteers who removed two thousand pounds of invasive blackberries. Thereafter, they planted and mulched over 400 native plants to create a diverse habitat that will prevent erosion and support local wildlife and the watershed's health. A local organization has agreed to maintain the newly planted habitat.
